Flowering in Dubai

WOW.

I cannot believe I just got back from Dubai. I am part of an international certification school called EMC. This school is elite in floral design. It goes deeper than just being a florist. It teaches you how to think. How to unlock creativity.

So why did I have to fly thousands of miles to Dubai?

Well, it was part of a team-building workshop/teaching opportunity. Since we’re international, we don’t get to meet in person very often. So this was a golden opportunity to get together and not only build our team, but Tomas had an important mission for us to achieve. We were hosted by Al Lokrit (a wholesale floral company) to come up with a bank of trends for them.

Trends are what help sell our expressions as floral designers. If you think about it, we only deal with emotions! Holidays, sympathy, get well, weddings, etc. They’re all tied to emotions. So helping the company come up with relevant trends to sell to high-end clients in Dubai was the goal. We were very successful. The company was an absolute joy to work with. They hosted us so graciously. I will have a video addition to this post shortly. (I’m still jet-lagged)
