Titlow Lodge: PNW accents on an August day

This is one from the archives, the bouquet is a stunner! 😍

I’ve flowered a lot of weddings. This one is from the way back time machine of summer 2016. Here are a few of the highlights from Victoria and Josh’s PNW take on the classic color palette of green and white.

Victoria’s bouquet featured many types of ferns, uluhe (fern curls), green hanging amaranthus, raspberry foliage (some of the foliage had little flowers), ‘White cloud’ Garden roses, scabiosa pods, white majolica spray roses, Queen Anne’s lace, Feverfew, white hydrangea, white stock and giant white dahlias.

The overall structure is garden style, not too loose, but with a bit of draping and breaking a round silhouette. This is still one of those bouquets I remember being so proud to give away. Chef’s kiss gorgeous!

Titlow Lodge is an intimate and DIY-friendly sort of venue. It is available to rent on the Tacoma Metro Parks website. The capacity is 220 guests. The website lists the following amenities:

One large hall and one smaller room for meetings

  • A small kitchen is available

  • Folding Chairs

  • 60″ round tables

  • 6’x30″ Rectangular tables

  • Portable Digital Projector and Screen (additional charge for A/V)

  • Dance floor: hardwood floors throughout, electrical outlets available

  • Parking: 24 parking spaces, 2 handicap stalls, some on-street parking, overflow parking available in nearby parking lot.

  • Fully accessible

  • Alcohol allowed in designated areas (with banquet permit)

The do also provide an onsite rental attendant on the day of the event.

Being a part of Tacoma parks, there are so many good places to take photos here! There is direct access to the beach area. A park for kids, and a lot of wooded area to get some really beautiful shots.

The couple wanted a simple branchy element to get married in front of. This was something now as a very seasoned florist I would love to revisit and do again with MORE! Such a fun concept and so different from a traditional archway. Getting creative with your ceremony can be really fun, and if you do it right…you can dual purpose the pieces to get the most out of them! This piece was displayed behind their sweetheart table for the reception.

Times have changed a tad. I no longer fully wrap the boutonnieres like this for weddings, but it was super popular back in 2016 to do it this way.

I made the couple a moss tray to display the boutonnieres on. I think this was so perfect for the style they wanted. It made for such a good photo!

Happy wedding planning! Thanks for reading the blog. If you haven’t yet, subscribe to the newsletter to get this content directly emailed to you along with behind the scenes content and a lot of flower prettiness.
